Son'z at Swan Court Review: The Occasion Dinner, $243.85 for Two
Son'z at Swan Court review from a paid dinner at the Hyatt Regency Maui — the lagoon setting, the steak, and exactly what two people spent.

- Worth it. Book it early in the trip and early in the evening.
Every resort has an "occasion" restaurant. Son'z is the Hyatt Regency Maui's, and it's the one dinner of the trip we'd book again without looking at the number first. Here's the number anyway.
The setting
Waterfalls, a lit lagoon, actual swans. The room reads like a résumé — local steak awards, a cellar it's proud of — and the setting still outruns it. Sit early enough to watch the light go.
The food
A steakhouse that's actually about the steak. We didn't order the cellar; we ordered dinner for two and left the right amount of full.
The price, in context
For a milestone-night steakhouse on a lagoon, $243.85 for two is within sight of what a comparable steakhouse in Los Angeles runs. The "resort tax" here is smaller than you'd guess — which is not what we found at the sushi bar next door.
When to go
Early in the trip, so you're not rushing it against a checkout morning, and early in the evening, for the terrace light. Reservations matter; we didn't find a walk-in night.
Verdict
Worth it. If you have one dinner budget to spend on this resort, spend it here. The rest of the week's dining, with receipts, is in Hyatt Regency Maui dining, honestly.
