About

Two people, one rule: show the receipt.

PointsDog is written by the people who took the trips and paid the bills. If a number is on this site, we can show you where it came from.

Editorial policy

What we publish

Every article starts from something we actually did — a booking, a folio, a fare, a tee time — and the number we paid for it. Reference pages about cards and programs are built from the issuer's own published terms, with the date we checked them.

What we don't

  • No invented statistics, testimonials, press mentions, or reader counts.
  • No reviews of places we haven't been. If it's research, we say so.
  • No stock photos of credit cards. Real trip photos or none.
  • No fake urgency, no popups, no “limited time” that isn't.

How numbers are labelled

Each receipt on the site carries a stamp. Verified means we paid it and can show the statement or folio. Directional means it comes from public sources or our own measurement, not a receipt. Estimate means it's our math on posted prices — labelled so you can argue with it.

Corrections

Card terms change. If you find a number that's wrong, tell us and we'll fix it and note the change on the page.

How we make money

Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you use one to book a trip or open an account, we may earn a commission at no cost to you. Affiliate links are labelled where they appear. They never change what we recommend or the numbers we publish, and we don't accept payment for reviews. Read the full disclosure.
